NOTICE: Refuse District Fee on Tax Bills

June 2026 

Dear Neighbor, 

The Village recently identified a calculation error affecting the refuse district charge in the 2026 tax bill you recently received. The refuse district portion of your bill was over-stated by $1.28. 

Because Village tax bills are prepared and issued through Monroe County, corrected bills cannot be re-issued at this time. Following a public meeting held on June 2, 2026, the Board of Trustees unanimously approved the following resolution to address this matter: 

Residents are asked to pay their 2026 tax bill as issued. The Village will automatically apply a refuse district credit of $1.28 to next year’s tax bill.  

The Village regrets this error and appreciates your understanding and patience as we work to resolve the matter in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible.
